I'm starting up a small business over the next few months - it's a cafe/bar at the beach in the Philippines. What I need is a very basic way to keep track of what I am spending and what I am bringing in. I have no need for invoices, client lists, accounts receivable, etc. I have lots of experience with making food and the Philippines, but very little experience with accounting.
I mostly just need to tally up my inventory and what it all costs, and keep track of every dish/drink sold and what it brought in as revenue. Quickbooks seems overly complicated for these purposes. Is there something better out there? Maybe something that food trucks use would work?
Also, internet is crap over there, so it needs to be something I can download and run offline. Maybe I just get Quickbooks and only use a few of its features, but maybe someone here can recommend something better.
